OT: Intermittent PC Rebooting Problem

On Tue, 14 Mar 2006 23:51:11 GMT, "Anthony Freetard" Gave us:

There is no "simple acid test" for a PC power supply that is suspected to be functioning improperly, you f****ng retard.

Yet another retarded remark from Anthony Freetard the Usenet retard.

You're an idiot. The acronym "COM" IS "Cost Of Manufacture".

Always has been... always will be.

Guess what is NOT in the list, English boy?

Why do you think that I said "Not really" then?

Then capitalize the "M" next time so that someone can figure that out, geez. Do you always blame others for your own incompetence?

BTW, what about those 105C caps?

There IS a "simple acid test". Toss the some-bitch. Time is money to me, I'm picking up a new AMD box this afternoon ;-)

Time is money to you, yet you were working on this from March 11 to March 15?

A new box is all of $350 from dell.com... barebones, to be sure, but still...

Yep, $299 plus $29 shipping, plus tax...

Get a USB-to-IDE cable to make transferring your data from your old drive easier:

I got one, used pricewatch.com, don't remember who I bought it from, but it's just great for making backups of data cheaply and quickly (quicker than burning DVD-RWs, to be sure).

Hardly. I've been poking at it in between simulation runs for a new chip design.

Conclusion: Something fried on MOBO making PSU intermittent and also screwing the HD boot sector due to sudden power drops... so it's all toast.

This was my "comms" machine... internet, fax, etc., NOT my simulation beast, fortunately... all function duplicated on my laptop, from which I'm presently typing.

Actually, it is a thinly veiled political statement, not Sci-Fi, even though it was published as such. I was in grade school when i read it. I say again, YAWN. PS, you really do need to find a couple more working neurons.

I think we can be fairly certain that he's not talking about the book version, unless it came in a CliffsNotes.

Win2K

It flags log reconstruction due to a power dip. That's how I knew it was power related.

Cursory analysis from pulled MOBO... burned trace under memory stick... HD boot sector "corrupted".

I'm back on the air with a new machine... XP SP2... doesn't seem too shabby... just a FEW Billy-foibles ;-)

Two questions (I backed up the whole drive)...

I can't figure out what files to restore to get Firefox's bookmarks and passwords back.

Likewise, how do I restore Agent so that I preserve all the message saves, etc.?

Thanks!

Despite their cannibalistic ways, the Morlocks were the more intelligent of the two races. The Elio were essentially cattle raised by the Morlocks for food.

You're the idiot that called it sci-fi, dipshit.

It was an Orson Welles book, ya f***in' retard. Also, for the period it was written in, it was sci-fi.

Good for you. What year did the Alzheimer's set in?

I say again, you're a f****ng retard. An old foggie stinkin' f***in' retard.

Hahahaha... You're a piss poor joke.

A simple search on the Mozilla Firefox page is your friend.

Do your own work, plonktard.

Agent has no registry settings, so a simple copy of the entire agent directory, and subs.

No, that's what the publisher called it. There is a lot of crap branded as Sci-Fi that is not Sci-Fi.

Gee, you call me a retard, and can't even get the author's name right. Care to buy a clue?

I don't know, because your doctor refuses to release your medical records.

Wrong, I've never f***ed you, retard, but its obvious someone has been ramming your head into the wall on a regular basis.

No, you're the piss poor joke. I'll bet your boyfriend is laughing behind your back every time he takes you.
