I used to think i had a pretty good high school education, but they certainly glossed over that. Funny though that they did mention gasoline rationing. My parents grew up in the depression, so discussing their hardships with their kids was kinda of taboo.
Then again, i lived through the silly wage and price bullshit of Nixon's Whip inflation Now (WIN) programs.

Obama's following the FDR model, which is why FDR seemed worth revisiting. Except FDR's policy didn't work, so you wonder why we're imitating it.

Maybe Obama just figures FDR had the right idea, he just didn't do enough of it.

People went ape when FDR drove the national debt up to 40% of GDP. Today it's 85%, and within a year it'll be 100%.
