It continues to amaze me how we can become so inured to over a thousand people a day dying of a disease that is entirely preventable. But the US is not the same country that won WWII and is not the same country that built the Panama canal or even the same country who landed the first man on the moon.
Now we are the country that entered a war in Vietnam that could not be won. The same country that started into a tail spin after the intelligence fiasco of 9-11, crashing around foreign countries trying to salvage some respect from the rest of the world only to repeat the mistake of Vietnam.
So we can add another failure to the list of preventable missteps the US simply lacked enough will to fight the way it needed to be fought.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the US to be a whiny bitch, too entitled to act responsibly, insisting on getting her hair done and her nails polished while ICU beds fill with those deathly ill from Covid denying care to others who have done nothing other than to get sick from something else.
With over 660,000 dead of this disease in the US, we still see over 1,300 added to the rolls each day. The US has found it's Waterloo, but not because it is outnumbered, rather because it just doesn't have the will to fight.
