Simple way to bind wires, without ties

No, he is a patent troll wannabe. Nothing really new, probably older = than my mere 6 decades or so. Nobody responds because it is not "all that" = for keeping wire organized. Thus John Doe takes being ignored as nobody having something else that works, which is hardly the case. Nor is his knots all that good of a solution, all the more so with today's higher line signaling speeds. Which are more and more frequently imposed over the ordinary power conductors.

It is older than shipping itself.

Before there were ships, there were boats.

I'd say that we can quite firmly believe that man has used that knot since the Vikings' ancestors tooled around in boats 8 plus thousand years ago.

No, AlwaysWrong did not so confirm. AlwaysWrong claims it is always right. Confusions on your part do not count. I have counted some two time in five years where NymNoNuts (the same person/group) was correct; nothing like half and half.

It's funny you say that, because a similar thought crossed my mind when I realized he was seriously trying to claim his idea was unique and original. At first I had trouble believing him; but he got so worked up over it all that I figure he's either serious about his "invention," or else he's a consummate troll. Maybe both, come to think of it... certainly got loads of attention for zero contribution.

I think I made a mistake trying to talk to him; it just encouraged him. As they say, "don't feed the trolls."

You using the term "it". That's rich.

Got it. AlwaysWrong *is* reliably wrong, which is great. He's something freakish to gawk at too, and nobody need feel guilty at being caught staring. All good.

Patience might be one of my virtues. But I try to reply in kind, not to troll.

But here you are very late to the party, making straw men.

Get a better news server. A bunch of people have responded.

That is just another straw man. In fact, I haven't even mentioned that it's for keeping wire organized.

You misspelled "trolled". I have received more than enough attention in this thread.

Another straw man. I have never said anything remotely resembling that. I freely admit that there are other things that work. There are other things that work without ties, but none that I have seen are as simple.

It is potentially useful to practically everybody on the planet, and it doesn't require tools or ties. Individuals can decide for themselves whether it's a good solution. Most of the people I've run into in real life have been impressed. But that's not how it works here on UseNet, good ideas rub some people the wrong way, having something to do with their big egos.

I never suggested otherwise. In fact, I have plainly stated that it might not be useful for all wire. But it's probably good for

99% of wires ordinary people use.

And so that anybody reading this doesn't have to wade through all of the garbage trying to find it...

Take a wire of whatever sort that is about 4 feet long. Fold it in half. Fold it in half again. Now it is 1 foot long. Grab both ends and tie an overhand knot. That's it. It stays stuck together in a much more compact and easy to manage form. The same method can be used for tying up the ends of wires that are currently being used (plugged in at both ends) by doing as described above with the folded excess wire.

That one is more to the point, but if it don't work...

John Doe squealed like a little stuck piggy:

Here, let me tidy that up a bit for you....

"John Doe" ("Jake") took his 4-inch peepee and folded it in half. Then, he folded it in half again. Now it was 1 inch long. He grabbed both ends of the pathetic little lump and jerked a knot in it. Then, he beat it flat with a 3-lb masonry hammer. That's it. It stays stuck together in a much more compact and easy to manage form, but now it's useless for pissing with. That's why he comes here, where he knows he'll get the piss taken out of him every time he posts ridiculous horse-shit about binding wires and whatnot.

Better?

Go f*ck yourself with a rake, there's a good lad.

He was bipolar and off his medication, like several posters on this newsgroup. He screwed up when he phoned the local sheriff's office with some false information, and threatened a church I was working with to collect computer equipment for Veterans who couldn't afford a system. The first ISP had been assured by the local police department that he was harmless, along with the second. The third was a national ISP who didn't check. After he went silent, I found that he had moved back to his parent's house. He had quite a police blotter. The police had to remove him from a Red Robin restaurant, he was banned from shopping at Wal-Mart, and had the police called when he tried to run a woman down in the parking lot of her apartment complex. There were a lot more, but those are the only ones I can remember right now.
