Proving that you haven't read the book or even the information about Lott. That is, you're simply proving how closed and small minded you are.

You're clueless but apparently even Phyllis knows it.

You're projecting again, SLowman. Nothing new. It's the only thing your neuron can do in the dark.

More nonsense from the Aussie Dummy.

een US states, where states with more gun-crime implement tighter gun contr ol - which doesn't work because everybody buys their guns out of state - so that that the gun-freaks proceed to argue that more guns means less crime (where actually less gun-crime leads to less interest in gun control). An o bvious enough error in logic, but not one that krw has the wit to detect.

etween strict gun control and homicide rate by comparing societies which di ffer widely in other features.

ssion analysis to tease out its effects from the effects of all the other d ifferences in the societies. Russia has a high homicide rate despite fairly tight gun control in part because it has a very high rate of alcoholism, t hough bad governance and ethnic diversity may also play a part.

rather mindless gullibility. You find an author who purports to tell you w hat you like to hear and pay him for his kindness in reinforcing your half- witted prejudices.

I haven't read the book - and won't - because I did read the information ab out Lott. That's the difference between critical thinking (me) and unthinki ng gullibility (you).

right-wing sensibilities. The last one like that that I was gulled into rea ding was "The Bell Curve"

Like I said, you are into posting unsupported opinion. Phil Allison occasio nally gets upset about individual things I post, and calls me autistic from time to time, but I don't think he calls me clueless. Since you never post anything of substance he presumably doesn't bother pointing out that you r eally are clueless. If I remember rightly, he's called Phil Hobbs autistic, which is unlikely to be true either.

quantify "governance" well enough to be able to feed it into a regression analysis? The fact that you haven't been able to find such as study - or ev en something that purports to be such a study - tells its own story.

rime

for critical analysis, you believe it. You stupidity may yet kill you - wh ich would be no loss - but it also makes it more likely that your nearest a nd dearest may end up shooting themselves in a moment of aberration, which is tough on them.

How was that "projecting"? I don't own a gun of any kind. I do live in an e ighth floor flat, and about a year ago one of the neighbours (who was dying of AIDS) apparently jumped off his balcony, killing himself and making a m ess of the entrance. We were in Europe at the time, and didn't get to hear about it, but one of our other neighbours got stuck with cleaning up the ar ea where he landed and was no unreasonably peeved about the emotional damag e done to less robust residents of the block.Suicide happens from time to t ime - and it's a lot more common than home invasions.

e/

ker a gun-freak into reading their results, so their interpretation is prob ably more reliable.

Not exactly. It's not nonsense, and it's mine only in the sense that I foun d it with a minimal web-search. It more or less replicates other academic s tudies that I've found over the years.

You want to think it's nonsense, but your can't post any kind of reasoned a rgument explaining why you think it might be nonsense. As I seem to have me ntioned before, you practice argument by assertion, which isn't all that co nvincing.

OK. What are likely search terms in German? We'll see how far my schoolboy German takes me.

Ahh, yes.

Let's see..YOU advertise the fact that your son in law has set a record killing prisoners. Are you immune from angered relatives or gang members seeking revenge? It's not Mister Larkin that needs help.

As a bit of helpful advice, stop advertising what line of work your relatives are in. For your sake and theirs.

In fact Jim's advertising that his son-in-law spent an unusually long time in the career grade of prosecutor before finally being promoted to judge.

It's not just the relatives of the prisoners executed who could get peeved by this kind of advertising - the son-in-law could also get restive.

Sounds like good advice, but Jim doesn't take advice - in fact he kill-files the poeple who give it.

Look at Jim's past posts. He talks about killing people (and kneecapping them, and beating them up, and if all else fails, suing them) more than he talks about electronics. He has bragged about ruining someone's career, over some slight decades before. He says that he always gets even (which, obviously, he doesn't.)

n a par with Phil Allison.

There's nothing wrong with Phil Allison's sanity. He loses his temper a gre at deal too easily, and has an odd idea of what might constitute autistic b ehaviour but is more or less in touch with reality.

John Larkin and Jim Thompson both know a great many things that ain't so, a nd never seem to correct their foolish misconceptions - Jim Thompson simply kill-files people who disagree with him while John Larkin's vanity makes i t very difficult for him to appreciate that he might ever be wrong.

If insanity is being out of touch with reality, both are a lot less sane th an Phil Allison. Because their low-level social skills are more polished, t hey don't look as crazy as Phil Allison, but the longer you interact with a ll three, the better Phil Allison looks.

You cast aspersions on what you say is unacceptable behavior, yet when
your targets are criticized by others - whether the criticism is valid
or not - you jump on the critic's bandwagon and use his access and
derogatory head of steam to further lambast your target in exactly the
way you claim is reprehensible.

Come on John, we are talking about the psychopathic Jim-out-of-touch-with-r eality-Thompson here. I know you have a soft spot for addled antiques - how else could you continue to claim that the 555 isn't obsolete - but just th is once let your rational self rule your sentimental side.

You've read the rubbish Jim has posted - he may think he is peddling honour able southern behaviour, but to non-southerners it looks more like a hangov er from the Hatfields and the McCoys.
