Idiots

  1. How would this help against a bomb?
  2. With gun conveniently provided, bad guy could just make several shots into engines or flight controls.

Concealed carry permits issued by whom and recognized where?

Looks more like poor idiot Abdul tried to detonate something like laptop lithium ion battery by injecting water into it.

Yes - there are no shortage of conspiracies to chose from!

I was watching CSI last night and the usual thing happened that pissed me off. They were examining a laptop and the baddie "hacked in" and deleted the files while they stood helpless. Someone ought to suggest they try removing the HDD and copying it first as a matter of routine.

A lot of the "science" in CSI is dubious, Remember the construction worker who got electrocuted?

"Electricity is of two kinds, positive and negative. The difference is, I presume, that one comes a little more expensive, but is more durable; the other is a cheaper thing, but the moths get into it." (Stephen Leacock)

It seems they got you convinced. IMHO the US simply pissed off too many people and now they're taking the heat. The US is simply over obsessed by trying to alter the world. A world the average US citizen knows very little about. Its not a culture clash its total ignorance and disrespect! Even big companies from the US (Apple, Ebay, Paypal for instance) are totally clueless and ignorant on how things work in other parts of the world. It takes them years and many failures to learn and acknowlegde local customs and laws. There is a huge cultural gap between the US and Europe to start with. Lets not get started on the rest of the world. Even Europe which has been an ally of the US by tradition is moving away from the US because of all the b***s*it.

Failure does not prove something is impossible, failure simply indicates you are not using the right tools... nico@nctdevpuntnl (punt=.) --------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe I missed that, but electrocuting yourself with 110VAC takes some doing. I've had plenty of 240VAC "bites".

I also like the way they can turn a 320x240 cam into a HD image with a bit of "processing". "Hey - can you blow up the image of that car number plate reflected in that guy's sunglasses."

I didn't know that you could make Napalm out of lard.

Greed is the root of all eBay.

Napalm and lard... about the same sticky consistency ;-) ...Jim Thompson

When idiot was fumbling with his panties, escort him to his virgins.

You make it should so simple. You must watch a lot of TeeVee.

Certainly not in weenie Right-Pondia. In this case a tire-iron would have been enough.

Huh? He had PETN in his panties.

"Bad guys" aren't allowed guns,it's the law. And "Vlad" must have missed the part further down in my post about people WITH PERMITS being allowed onboard with guns.the LAWFUL folk;ODCs.

don't expect "Vlad" to know any actual FACTS. These folks operate on imagination unsupported by fact or reason.

Listening to the TV yesterday some guy said the security at Schiphol airport in the Netherlands is handled by private contractors.

Being private contractors they employed a lot of immigrant staff to minimize costs. This implies some muslims.

It is quite believable. Here in the UK there was a fuss when the government department responsible for illegal immigrants were found employing illegals for security via the security sub contractor.

In this instance Shipol made no difference. He was a transit passenger, hence no screening per se. And he was travelling with a valid Nigerian passport and valid US visa. Also it appears he was NOT on any Netherlands watch list - the USA habit of not sharing among their own security branches appears to extend to not sharing internationally.

I'm very surprised it failed to detonate. Whatever he injected into it must have prevented it. Sounds suspicious.

The bastards at Heathrow took my green 50 mW laser pointer.

I offered them the batteries, but they said I could buy more airside. Presumably they thought that I and various accomplices would take the cabin by storm and blind the pilot.

One of those arses is walking around with my laser pointer now.

It's Jim Yanik of the lunatic gun lobby.

The only lunatics here are the leftist weenies who want to violate our civil rights, lunatic.

You have no civil rights, facist GW Bush took them all aways :-)

Yes, that used to happen at the old Eurostar terminal at "Waterloo International" Crowds of people backed up by the slow security.

Not only that, if you are pissed off already then you are more likely to want to carry a bomb.

However, the real reason I suspect is that they have been reading some of John Larkin's right wing rubbish that he posts here and have concluded that he is a security risk.

:

Yes, we all know you're one of the lunatics.
