I have a Sony DAV-SC5 home theatre system which I am experiencing issues with. When playing a DVD I have a perfect picture but no sound. When I play an audio CD or put my televisions audio through this box there is no issue. I have reset the boxes configuration to ensure something had been changed mistakenly, but still no sound. Does anyone know whether this particular system is serviceable or what this kind of fault could be down to.

Have you tried several DVD's?
.. It may be that your DVD player does not support DTS and the DVD you're having issues with has a DTS soundtrack as the default stream.
