Man pages in Mandriva LE 2005

Hai all, I am unable to find the man pages for system calls in Mandriva LE

2005.I know systemcalls man pages will be in 2nd stage.(man 2 open) For example, read,write,fopen.fclose,i am unable to find. If any one has any idea,plz help me out guys..

Well, the first obvious question is "did you install them?" Why don't you look in /usr/share/man/man2/ and see what you can see? Nothing there? Then try 'rpm -qa | grep man' If the man pages ARE installed, is the environmental variable MANPATH set in your shell? If not, is there a man configuration file (perhaps /etc/man.conf) setting the search path?

hi i found the following files in usr/share/man/man2.

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 761 Jan 31 2004 create_module.2.bz2

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 697 Jan 31 2004 delete_module.2.bz2

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 942 Jan 31 2004 get_kernel_syms.2.bz2

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1154 Jan 31 2004 init_module.2.bz2

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1378 Jan 31 2004 query_module.2.bz2

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2404 Nov 11 2004 quotactl.2.bz2

I unable to find MANPATH in my environment variables(printenv).

I found a man.conf in /etc but it is empty. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4891 Feb 8 2005 man.config
