Whe-e-e-e-e-e-e!

Wind, rain and hail that had me running around the house closing shutters :-(

The kind of storm that I have seen before that often results in a tornado :-(

Sure thing to look for is the Anvil cloud formation, then the horizontal rain.

Only 50 in Pgh, but 44 in Bedford, and it will be nice starting tomorrow. 61-70

Been really damp and rainy last few days. I hate damp and cold. I would rather have snow.

PGH == Pittsburgh??

I grew up in Huntington, WV, ~200 miles down the Ohio River.

All that slushy snow plus 4 years in Boston is why I live in AZ :-) ...Jim Thompson

Yep. Early this morning. A number of houses flattened... 7 injuries, so far none fatal.

Just picture the grass in my back yard totally covered by ping-pong-size hail :-( ...Jim Thompson

We have enough of them on the spit now that we should have warm weather until July. The feds just whacked the gambling cartel here and it seems they going to take a dozen or five state politicians with 'em. ...almost all DemonicRats. Stuff gets the attention of the feds when the mayor wins a couple of million bucks at Bingo.

Alabama. The politics here is amazingly corrupt (and surprisingly DemonicRatic, at the state level).

Background: These "Bingo Casinos" are obviously illegal but the attorney general refused to do anything about it. The governor stepped in and put together a task force to shut them down. They raided a few of them but got some well paid (for) judges to issue injunctions against the task force and governor. Every time, this went to the state supreme court and the governor given another green light. The legislators then introduce bills to legalize such gambling *AND* give the existing casinos a monopoly on the gaming. BTW, none of the casinos had paid state taxes. It should be noted that there isn't even a state lottery here.

Yup! The eleven indicted so far are only the tip of the iceberg, but they have them dead-to-rights. At least one of them, the bag (wo)man, is singing.

Boss Hogg done got hisself a dirt cheap toopeee. ;-)

There are a lot of idiots commenting on that page. Florida used the same lies abbout benifiting the schools, but the money brought in by the Lottery simply replaces what used to come from the general fund.

There was a man who ran for re-election to a schoolboard in Kentucky while in prison for stealing a lot of money from the school system, and won.

Steal a million dollars from one man, and they will track you down and put you in an iron cage.

Steal a dollar apiece from a million people, and they'll elect you their leader.

Ayup, shore 'nuff did.

Didn't they all? ...not that I'm totally against a poor tax. I am against funneling that money to a crook like him. There were a lot of people put out of work around the state when they closed down the casinos. That argument didn't impress me as a good reason to allow illegal activities to continue, either.

Remember Marrion Barry.

When we were living in NY, one of the school districts hired radio air time to made a public announcement that they would no longer accept invoices without a matching purchase order. Well, duh! Evidently, all you had to do to get in on the gravy train was to invoice them. They paid everything.
