Wanted: Suggestions for a really obnoxious sound maker...

(1) When connected to a phone line

(2) My thoughts run simply to a multivibrator

But I don't know what would be gruesome to hear ;-) ...Jim Thompson

Record a chainsaw with a dull blade, cutting through sheetmetal. ;-)

You can't fix stupid. You can't even put a band-aid on it, because it's Teflon coated.

Not what you want, but the sound of a petrol driven leaf blower, clearing a path in a National Park ?

Can you make a fairly genuine-sounding pig squeal? That gravely- sounding "eeeeeeek" with simultaneous low and high components?

Do it while inhaling. That's the key.

Funny thing is that I can't really hear it while I'm doing it. So I ask other people whether the sound is annoying, then I demonstrate it. They don't answer, instead they cover their ears and start kicking. My shins.

You could try phoning Nymbecile and recording his dulcet tones :-)

Tempting but I think freight 1/2 way around the world would bust the deal.

Then take his half sister...

They think it's another annoying politician pushing his latest pork...

Which half is she (assuming top/bottom rather than left/right)?

What's the specific load... er, audience?

If telemarketers, the punishment should fit the crime.

Get somebody to write an Eliza-ish matronly woman loaded with marketing bafflegab instead of Psych 101 bafflegab... it should waste their time amusingly.

I think current voice-recognition software is good enough if the "error message" is "speak more clearly dear" or similar.

Anybody wanna write an IPhone app for it?

The top. How else could she eat you out of house & home? Or complain all the time? ;-)

In the 80's there was a novelty record called "Captain Beaky" - people used to play it at parties when they want everyone to leave.

The opening sequence of a Fax stream is pretty effective. (and very loud)
