For the record...
I didn't design the MC1495 or MC1496, Jim Solomon did and claimed the multiplier concept. He was immediately trashed in the trade journals for trying to steal Barrie Gilbert's work.
I did contribute a PNP-NPN mirror turn-around in the MC1494 which, despite the numbering, came later than the '95/'96.
