I just got a new Tektronix AFG3021 for serious hobby use today. The included software only has options to generate waveform files from the built-in templates or using a supplied DLL file with MatLAB from what I can see. I don't have MatLAB but I still want to generate arbitrary waveform files to upload to the instrument. I just need to know what the file format happens to be. I want to write my own code to read data files created by another application and output a correctly formated waveform file. I can use the supplied Tektronix software I think to do the upload.
I looked quickly through the documentation but didn't see anything except what looked like some MatLAB code writing data to the instrument using the supplied above mentioned DLL file.
