By your description, the fault must be in the pin amp. This is usually caused by electrolytic capacitors in your set going high in ESR. It is best to check these with an ESR meter, and replace the defective parts. On some occasions, I have also seen other types of components in the pin amp section have failures.

If you are not experienced at doing TV service, I suggest you give the set to a service centre for proper and safe servicing.

I think you should call the authorized Sony service center near to you. About 95% of the time, I have had worn capacitors in the pin amp section of TV sets cause the fault you are describing.

With proper troubleshooting, the defective parts can be located, and then changed.
