Can anyone help me with my old tv? It's a Sony kv-2531a set, about 10 years old. It had bad field linearity, fixed by replacing c531-c532. Few days after the remote stopped working. Replaced with a new one ( how expensive by sony!) but still faulty. I had a look to the schematics, the receiver itself cannot be tested, AFAIK, power, 5v, is correct, on output pin 2 of the ir receiver I get a +5v when idle. All resistors involved fron the ir rcvr output to the big chip (IC001, SDA2083) are ok. I also get a slight frequency shift of the picture, very little. All my suspects point to the chip that looks like acting for both troubles. Can anyone suggest me more checks before I replace the (expensive) chip and may be swear on having best bought one of this corean use-and-throw sets? Thanks

Ahem, visto che sei italiano ti scrivo in italiano :-) Non ti consiglio di comprare i televisori usa-e-getta perche' non esistono i televisori usa-e-getta : e' solo che la gente quando si guasta qualcosa non la porta nemmeno dal tecnico e la butta via subito. Magari con 5-10? se la caverebbero, ma dicondo : che me ne frega ? Mi faccio un tv nuovo con 50? ! Poi magari si riguasta, lo buttano, se ne fanno uno nuovo ecc. ecc. ovvio che se ad. esempio e' rotto il micro ti conviene cassonettarlo direttamente, ma se e' una cretinata, ripararlo conviene : facciamoli durare un po' di piu' questi apparecchi sono costruiti (parlo dei Turchi) per durare *anni e anni* ma la gente a volte li cassonetta dopo 1-2 magari solo perche' e' un po' storta l' immagine... capito ? I Sony sono un altro pianeta : se questo e' un Sony anni 70-80-90 *NON* buttarlo via : e' di una qualita' impressionante (ved. LOURENS) e vale fino all' ultimo centesimo della riparazione !
Grazie Inty, ti seguo sempre con interesse sul ng italiano.Se non fosse per te e Lorenzo..sarebbe morto! Mi hai gia' risposto a proposito di questo guasto, suggerendomi di cambiare il ricevitore. Non l'ho ancora fatto, perche' non convinto.Ricordi, il telecomando inizio' col funzionare a 50 cm poi scaldandosi il tv a 1 metro e poi andava regolarmente. Ora e' defunto ed e' apparsa questa piccola deriva in frequenza. Non vorrei cambiare il ricevitore ( una basetta che comprende parecchi altri componenti, ai prezzi Sony!) poi dover cambiare il chip ( ai prezzi Sony !) e spendere un patrimonio su un ricevitore ormai "vecchio". E magari il guasto era ancora altrove! Percio' sto cercando di circoscrivere al meglio il problema. Se puoi rispondimi (anche in privato, sono Fastvale ma in realta' valrik ) e faro' tesoro dei tuoi consigli. Puoi ritenermi a disposizione per problemi relativi a telecomunicazioni in genere (equipaggiamenti e tecnologie) ma come elettronica "consumer" sono rimasto agli anni della gioventu'! A proposito, dove sei?

I have a 16 month old Sony flat screen tv model # KV-32FS320. The color on the screen is messed up and the picture is slightly off center towards the bottom right. The color problem is there is a circle in the center of the screen that is green in color. Then from the top come 2" bands of blue, red and green that start in the top center and follow around the green colored circle and meet again in the center at the bottom. Any ideas on what the cause is?
