The Russians used to have an electronic machine
that produced sleep in people thru radio waves called
the LIDA. Does anyone have an idea where I could buy
one nowadays ??? Any ideas on this would be helpfull.

Buy any video that offers to teach some computer skill. I've never seen one I stayed awake throughout.

Seriously though, I have somewhat faded memories of that machine he's talking about, and don't think it had anything at all to do with sleep (as in get a good nights sleep)
Think it was Russian experimentation at mind control, a sort of electronic hypnosis that put (or tried to put) people into a sort of hypnotic state where they'd be super receptive to suggestion. Kinda made them zombies.
I'd stay as far away as I could..

*Supposedly* the Soviets had developed a machine that you taped electrodes to the front and back of your head, applied a mild current at the same frequency as "alpha waves" between them, and induced a sleep so deep and restful that one hour on the machine was like 8 hours natural sleep. You could find ads for them in the back of comic books in the late 1960s and 1970s. It didn't work, of course Sleep is a much more complex function of the body that can't really be simulated through "artificial alpha waves".
Bob's Museum of Questionable Medical Devices had a Russian Sleep Machine on display and available for review on its website but, alas, Bob retired and closed the museum in 2002. The website vanished ages ago.
