Packard Bell Easynote E3 Laptop Won't boot, no picture, no POST

Aug 20, 2006 4 Replies

Machine was just fine, checked the obvious and ram, harddisk, ... is all fine, no picture at all. Machine suddenly stopped working while booting xp, now only a long beep, 2 seconds wait, another long beep and so on. Google does not make me any wiser, neither packard bell. I'v re-seated the cpu to no avail. Anyone seen this before?

Does the hard disk drive spin up when the laptop is booted?

Otherwise - need to know the POST code for that laptop, one long, 2 seconds and another long ...

Have you checked the hdd on a desktop using an adapter?

Yes

That's what i can't find.

The hdd is fine, and even with a faulty or no hdd i should have a picture on my external monitor. I removed hdd, dvdrw, wlan... same problem, no post, only a long beep every sec.

Beep - Pause - Beep - Pause - Beep - Pause

is generally an memory error or no memory inserted.
