Well, at least it wasn't your youngest one.

You know you are getting old when you have a definite opinion regarding some issue but no one cares. Cheers, John Stewart

Shouldn't the king of the killfile at least have put "OT" at the start of this ego-tastic, monumentally off-topic post?
Tim, expecting to be plonked by Jim again, with gratuitous notice.

I was in the music store the other day and a woman was shopping with her young grand-daughter. There was a life-size cut-out of Elvis Presley as part of some sale or promotion. Grand-daughter asks grandmother about man with funny haircut. Grand-mother replies, "Oh, he was one of the singers Grandma listened to when she was a girl."
!!!!!
Yikes! Grandmothers are supposed to have fond memories of Rudolph Valentino and Bing Crosby and Guy Lombardo, not Elvis!!
I felt old..............
You can't even tell "monumentally off-topic" posts by the subject lines?
"I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter." :-)
Who's "Tim Auton"? I thought he was non-existent ;-)

Elvis was big when I was a teenager, but I remember those other guys too ;-)

This gets to be a great puzzle. My older son is 47, but I believe I am about
I don't know when or if I shall become old.

Usually, but the subject line for this thread could also apply to obsolete parts, simulation models or practices which are actually related to electronics.
I think it's a fair assumption that at least a *new* thread unrelated to electronics would make itself apparent in these groups, even if history shows threads frequently go off-topic.
sci.electronics.misc I can accept, but for a.b.s.e, s.e.cad and s.e.d it's almost as irrelevant as most of the crap I post. That's an insult and a half :*)

Nah, it just means you started breeding young.

How about the insult of being asked if you want the senior discount nearly ten years early, but struggling with the enigma of deciding whether to express your disgust, or keeping quiet to receive the discount and satisfy the thirst for frugality?

I remember being asked to slouch down in the seat and look little so the streetcar conductor would only charge my mother half-fare for me. I am delighted to see that the same technique works at the other end of the age spectrum!

I was in a music store when some girl picked up a Beatles album and said "Gee, I didn't know Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings!"
Sheesh, now I don't go to music stores any more...

What? Damned birth control!

I know the feeling. I was half way through 11th grade when my brother was born. He's a Navy Cmdr. now, turned 40 this month.
Definately old
