Most likely it slows down. I can't speak for Xilinx but the Modelsim Xilinx tools get faster the more money you spend... up to a point... then they slow down again. I have noticed the current release on Modelsim is considerably slower the 5.x (which we still use at work). I believe they increased the memory footprint and added geewiz which just caused it to run slower. M2C
