Modify Panasonic Fax

I have a Panasonic Fax/Phone machine that I really like except for one feature. You can't turn the fax part off without turning off the auto answer. I get to many junk faxes. Can anyone think of a way to modify the think so that I can turn off the fax receive part and still keep the auto answer on? I would just buy a new one but I can't find one with the three main features I need.

  1. Turn off/on fax while auto answer on
  2. Remote call out after receiving messagess
  3. Ink jet. I know I can use caller ID to screen calls but I don't have caller ID. Any ideas? Thanks Russ

I have no information on modifying the fax machine itself, but you could always do what I do. I have a computer which is dedicated as a fax machine. I use WinFaxPro, and when a fax comes in, it displays the fax. If I don't want the fax, I simply delete it without printing.

One thing I like about my setup is that when I receive a fax, in addition to saving it on the dedicated computer, it also e-mails it to me, so wherever I am, even continents away, I get all faxes - in this case, even the junk ones.

Of course, call>I have a Panasonic Fax/Phone machine that I really like except for one

What happens if you take the paper out? Will it store FAXes in memory, that you can just delete? Will it refuse to answer a fax?
