Watching the heathcare debate

Some Republicans are stuid enough - or ignorant enough - to see Sarah Palin as a serious politician. You can't take the kind of nincompoop seriously.

And many people are, even now, still stupid enough to Hope that anyhing will Change if they vote for yet another puppet for Wall Street ...

"John Larkin" skrev i meddelelsen news: snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com...

With the "Left" it is always about pecking order and hierachy: The real issue is*who* does or say something against *X*, not on *what* is being done or said!

Notice, if you like, how Sloman - like the rest of the obamites - has not noticed that Obama has basically taken every law, every stupid bank bailout, and every war that Bush made and added 30% more ressources to it.

Should Sloman in the future get kidnapped as an enemy combattant and get thrown in jail for life with no trial - it will indeed be according to the procedure that Obama is pushing to make into (US) law.

To the "Left", life is statistics and processes. It does not matter to them if we kill a million Afghanis or if we bomb Iran or if we pay all our taxes the next 50 years to Wall Street cronies - as long ad the proper-credentailised i.e. minority dude does it and not some white-thrash bimbo!

The US is lost.

They actually carry more gear on a truck than will fit an ambulance.

When we leaving the emergency room there were more than a dozen ambulances parked, plus two fire trucks. ...Jim Thompson

I think you are right. Unfortunately I fear that the Tea Party will fractionalize the conservative vote. Add that to the fact that Republicans can't lose all their s*it about abortion and religion, and you have Democrats holding their majorities in BOTH Houses :-( ...Jim Thompson

You are quite wrong about Sarah... read her book.

She's just a victim of the left's character assassination team. ...Jim Thompson

Actually, she (like nearly all political types) hired a pro to do most of the work for her. Books by politicians are almost always crappy.

I disagree with that last line. At the time there were many suggesting a female for the republicans to nominate who I think would have given Obama serious trouble. I won't give the name because she is still around and 2012 is coming.

By which you mean that a book was published in which she was named as the author

No, but on the other hand I've not indulged in any well-publicised activities which would encourage a publisher to want to publish a book ostensibly written by me.

No-one - except you - has suggested that Sarah Palin is stupid. Her vice-presidential campaign made it perfectly obvious that she was ignorant, which isn't the same thing.

Wrong. Bush and his anti-scientific crew made global warming denial administration policy - as you'd expect from a group whose electoral success was bought and paid for by the oil industry.

Global warming started around 1750, when the industrial revolution got under way, unless you take William Ruddiman seriously, who places the initial upsurge a few thousand years earlier, when people started planting rice paddies.

What makes you think that she was that interested in her ghost- writer's output?

Functionally illiterate. She presumably read memo's because she had to. There's not a shred of evidence that she's ever read anything that she didn't have to.

John Larkin can distinguish between ignorant (which Palin is) and stupid (which she obviously isn't, granting how much mileage she's extracted her negligble political assets).

Since Bill Bowden is too slow to realise that I never called Palin stupid, merely ignorant, the rest of his comments can be written off as equally unrelated to reality.

You need to advance your reading level a little beyond the Wizard of Oz.

The fact that I don't share your irratonal preferences doesn't make me either rude, grim or heartless. The fact that you can't produce a rational defence of your prejudices, but have to fall back on implausible abuse makes your position perfectly obvious.

That's funny. I cite books (including ISBN) pretty regularly, which would imply - to the objective observer - that I'd bought and read them. Right-wing nitwits do have trouble digesting evidence that they don't want to believe.

Who cares what her ghost-writer thinks?

aka investigative reporters. It's a pity that their investigations revealed a lesss than desirable character, but they can scarcely be blamed for her character defects.

the Left fears Palin.she has a widespread appeal. that's why they're so anxious to discredit her.

If the media had investigated Obama as much as they have Palin(and her children),Obama would never have been elected. The media FAILED in their duty to the US people.

ut,

Irak is being wound down.

Afghanistan is a sad case - if Dubbya had put enough troops in to Afghanistan in the first case, rather than indulging in the pointless invasion of Irak the country wouldn't still be the disaster area that it is. Obama is at least tackling the problem, rather using it as a source of "terrorists" as Bush did, to frighten the US population into paying for the Bush-Cheney overseas adventures.

e

Which was defacto US law under Bush-Cheney. Obama has at least been trying to find a way out of the mess that that he was landed with when he was elected - I've not seen any indication that he has given up trying yet.

Got any more irrational claims? Obama is a least taxing the banks to get back some of the money that ended up in Wall Street in the process of avoiding a second great depression.

I've been pondering why the lame-stream media is so liberal.

It dawned on me that most of this sort of people enter liberal colleges with the idea of writing a novel... being a wonderful _fiction_ author.

Since most of these people are losers from day one, they end up in (primarily) the print media, but never lose that need to embellish with fiction :-( ...Jim Thompson

Well, I am certainly happy that you had a laugh. Quite frankly I am unhappy with both parties. But more so with the progressives.
