Unprotected FETs and STD

Having unprotected FETs can lead to STD (Semiconductor Transient Destruction). :)

This dude has a FETish for very bad puns.

Groannnn......

You one-upped me.

.......... could end up with a nasty discharge I guess.

We shouldn't condome such behavior on SED. George H.

Please - I don't expect to be grossed out in an electronics design group.

I remember the female lab tech at Burroughs getting really peaved at the En gineers who kept blowing the Tektronix Diff FET Probes, rated for 25V.

You can raise that much ESD voltage just by lifting one leg ( which we ofte n did with an ESD calibation test... changing the body geometry, changes th e body C which in turn changes the voltage (delta V = Q / delta C) but it didn't take much to blow them. The FETS were replaced often.

Usually fondling the ring and tip was the safest way to handle the probe wi thout the condom tip between hook ups. eww.

My fault, and I apologize to you. I did not think it would come to this.

Suit yourself, but I think Phil's follow-up pun was tops. I would not like to miss them.

Multiple puns, I see. It takes a really warped mind to see them, and even more warped to generate them.

But, you misspelled peeved.

Actually, I was attempting mild humour, which looks like it didn't work, so I apologise to you.

;)

Sylvia.

Apologies for the cheesy puns!

Thank you, but no need to apologise. I guess your humour was so mild that I did not recognise it. So, it is more my fault than yours.

Cheers

(And now the entire group will accuse me of Chip-and-Dale hospitality, or worse)

BTW, I guess you did not notice my very subtle humor?

Hey, we're engineers. Borderline aspergers. Remember the motto of the National Lampoon:

Ah yes, that. What would the world do without us. Remind me again why we're not rich.

Was it as good for her as it was for you? :)

Sorry I should have added the smiley face. I was trying to 'pun' condone with condom. (Everyone probably thought it was just another spelling mistake on my part.)
