Is there a successor to this bus standard? Also, does anyone know of a fiber optic bus standard that is widely used in aerospace applications?

IIRC it's MIL-STD-1773 -- you can be the one to Google for it, though.

Not quite true, the MIL-STD-1553 has just been upgraded by Notice D to
200mbps as reported in MWRF or somewhere. There is a difference between "successor" and "version."Join the Discussion
