Conductive spray on paint..

A while ago I ran out of my supply of conductive spray in an aerosol can. I never gave it any thought but today after talking to some one that needs such a paint, it reminded me to look for a source to get some more.. How ever, I can't find any and I don't remember what I used last and can't reference it because the can is most likely a composite of some new chinese made product by now.


What I had before was a chrome paint but it was conductive enough for shielding. The conductive properties via a surface check with the DMM was sort of weak but it worked well as RF shielding and gave a rather ok shine, not something I would use in a case of real chrome work.. I would rather not use a copper paint. Does any one know where to purchase an aerosol can of semi conductive paint?

Thats what I thought - I wonder if Jamie's original can was what we used to call "aluminum suspension" paint. Generally used for corrosion protection.

I had no luck at all with spray-on zinc-rich primer or aluminum paint, and after they dried they showed infinite resistance when measured with analog and digital ohmmeters (even when I scratched through the coating). Another thing that didn't work was GC brand carbon-based shielding paint, which measured ~100 ohms with the probes 1" apart. OTOH nickel paint, like the MG Chemicals #841 that Martin Riddle mentioned, shielded as well as aluminum foil and measured 1 ohm, but it was so expensive that I ended up using aluminum flashing.
