Can anyone ID this for me? I've looked on SM parts ID but it's not there. The chip is SOT 23 6 pin. Marked with A28511. Pin2 Vin Pin 5 Gnd Pin 6 Vo adj Pin 3 F out Iq is good at<1mA. TIA.

But it doesn't match your pin numbers.
It might if he's got the wrong corner for pin 1.
Picture? There are often other clues beyond the marking text.

may be the one on the board Lasse posted a few days ago

sure you got pin 1 right? quite a few that fit if it's rotated
I've probably got the orientation wrong. The MT3608 looks good. The one Lasse posted seems to be a different chip... Thx guys.!
There are plenty MT3608 substitutes too like SX1308 VB9208 and SDB628 . Try LCSC and other Asian sites.
This might seem crazy, but I cant buy the bits from Asia ( Aliexpress) even with 'free shipping' as cheap as I can buy 10 modules. So I have designed a specific 24mm dia breakout pcb with the MT3608 design on it ( basically a free PCB) then I just rip the bits of the module and put them on the little PCB. Time costs me nothing, being retired and it's a hobby project. Thanks for all the help, it's been a long long time since I did stuff like this.
The no-load quiescent input current of the SX1308 is 100 uA typ. If you have 1 amp-hour of battery, that will last 10,000 hours. A bit over a year, less if there is a real load.
The SX1308 needs a minimum of 2 volts in anyhow.

That is the quiescent current between switching cycles when enabled. The shutdown quiescent current is 0.1uA
Cool. If you never run your gadget the battery will last a lot longer.
