TPSM65620



It's a tiny synchronous buck switcher with internal magnetics and bootstrap cap.



Input is 3 to 65 volts, out is 1 to 24, 2 amps, around $5.



I plan to convert +24 or +48 into +12, and I think I can use another one to flip +12 to -9.



TI is doing very cool stuff lately.

Exposed inductor?

Question 2. What's an Enhanced HotRod?

Looks like the inductor is physically exposed in being on top of the package and electrically exposed in being in series with the vout pin so you add more if needed.

Hotrod looks like some fancy proprietary footprint or package.

Nice chip indeed but outside my usual price range.

I'm desperate for PCB real estate so the tiny package with inductor is a big win. And we will have up to 48 volts in, which not many switchers do. This chip can switch up to 2.2 MHz, which keeps caps small.

We don't worry too much about parts cost, if we can get performance and maybe sell more units.

We have some on order but I haven't seen one yet. Should be interesting.

It may not need the uvlo, R35 and R48, but I can put 0603 resistors on the back side of my board where I have lots of space.

Yes my experience is TI does seem to deliver pretty good value for the money while I tend to think of Analog Devices as "What the hell happened?" despite their stock price having run up to the moon the last year, are there AD switchers in an Nvidia reference design or something?
