Are you sure the polariser is there to block UV. If they need to block UV wouldnt they just use a filter?

Hi All,
For std 16x2 LCD is the UV blocking polarizer std or typically a special?
Does any have exp with STN LCDs in sunlight and UV rays?
What action did you take?

We just received the failure report.
Failure due to high temp (sun light) and UV rays.
Any filter options would be appreciated.
