Hi, I need a datasheet (or any info) about an 8 pin surface mount chip. It has the markings 9435M and 425212 on it - i'm hoping it's some kind of
5V reg but can't be sure. TIA Dave

That's for some LSI with lots of pins, it's not the little SOP-8 thinger in that picture the first poster showed us.
Try 9435M instead of 9435/D...

That site doesn't give up its secrets easily though, it might give us different stuff depending on where we access it from, for one thing.

Well, it was your link I followed... But sure, your new one gets three. (And neither 2 or 3 seem to have a PDF anyway). I'm not sure that P-FET is the right one, but it might be. The IC form is right, but 9453M might be a very different thing.
I did find a link (posted earlier) suggesting Xicor as one maker, so writing to them might get something specific to that exact code of 9453M.
To continue with Google I think it is best to establish some makers for that exact device code before looking for data sheets anyway, the only reason I tried to grab one is because it appeared to be offered by that hqew.com site but I couldn't find one. So far neither of us had found one there, and there probably isn't one.
The close proximity to an inductor & rectifier might suggest a switching psu controller.
That's a clue - I think it might be a dual power MOSFET.

That's a MOSFET of some description. Pins 1-3 and 5-8 are wired together. Industry standard pinout is: Pins 1-3 Source Pin 4 Gate Pins 5-8 Drain
9435M is just the main part number, the prefix has been dropped. Assume for a moment it is a MOSFET - we Google for "9435M MOSFET". One of the results is . Page 7 in fact. That gives us the part numbers "CEM9435" and "AP9435M".So we Google again for "AP9435M" and we find , which is a datasheet for the AP9435M.
