Is rPi going-off-the-rails ?!

I was trying a new-for-me feature of mc, which caused the non-X-terminal to hang; and I wanted to kill the terminal, without disturbing other mc running in X.

Previously I noticed the strange/absurd multiple "{console-kit-dae}" in `pstree -p`. See the log-trace below. The absurd-growth of "{console-kit-dae}" prompts me to comment on the evolution of rPi.

I read about the rPi. How much current is that going to consume?! Already the battery-powerability is a problem. Will the quest to ape WinTel kill the original rPi idea?

What low-power open-linux systems are available?

Which distribution?

Which platform?

Why don't you read at the URL below.

You might find answers there to your questions. How by the way do you define low power?

ConsoleKit is a long dead, and it's going away. There's no point in ranting about CK at this time. Given that, what's your issue precisely?

The absurd `pstree -p` is from a standard 2013 rPi.

OK, that confirms that they're trying to ape WinTel

Well, the bloke told about his Sharp-pocket-calculator which still used the batteries from a decade ago; but the original rPi uses

2 Watt [without display]. So you'd want no more than 100mA * 5V for portability.

Speaking of aping, this is now either the 10th "Chris Glur" morph in my scorefile, or someone is very good at imitating him.
