RCA CTC203 - deguass relay clicks

Jun 02, 2006 3 Replies

Hi, I have an F36649yx51 that won't turn on. When power button is pressed the deguass relay clicks 5 to 7 times and that's all.

I checked the voltage at the collector of the HOT Q14401 and it was normal @ 140v. I connected a light bulb in series between the collector of the HOT and the flyback - it lit up and the relay clicked twice (normal) and the power light stayed on but no HV. I've replaced the flyback transformer T14401 - no change When I unplug the CRT driver board there is no change. I plugged the CRT driver board back in and disconnected the filament on pin 10 and the power light stays on. I don't know what to do next. Has anybody had any experience with this failure before?

Regards, Siggy

What does the horizontal output drive waveform look like on the o'scope? Have you already removed, cleaned, and repaired the glue contaminated connections to the coil on the base of the HOT?

If this model have PIP feature (easily identified by looking at the stand up module with A/V inputs) have large IC in the metal shield. With LM317 regulator for 3.3V on steel heatsink at one corner. Look at adjust pin of this LM317 for 2 SMD resistors. Resolder this SMD two resistors.

Cheers, Wizard
