Your kidding, right?Apex is a marketing name used by a Chinese importer of some of thelowest quality and lowest priced stuff around.That being said, I have a 24" Apex tv set that is less than two yearsold that has needed repair twice so far out of warranty. Luckily it ismy own tv and easy to repair for a trained technician, plus the servicemanual was available online for free.As for the consumer, sure go ahead and buy one if you get the five yearservice contract because you will probably need it. At least when amajor part fails and the part is not available, they will replace thetv set.

Just wait until some import company comes across that post and maybe we'll start seeing Funai DVD players branded with it :)

Actually, there could have been some relation. I seem to remember reading in a history of the company that Dual was sold to the Namsung Corporation (of South Korea).

I doubt the products are as good as they used to be (just because it seems to be "the trend" in the electronics business) but it is more than just a name IIRC. I don't own any modern Dual gear, but I've played with some and it looked to be reasonably well made.
