Convergence problem on Sony KP43T75

I have a Sony KP43T75 that appears to have a convergence problem. On another forum I was told I need to replace the convergence STK's. I thought I knew which parts I needed, but now I am not so sure. I thought I needed:

But in reading a thread here I may only need:

Is the first one for $75 the whole circuit board, and the second one for $10 just the single IC I need? Recommendations on which way I should go?

BTW, I know there are two convergence STK's to deal with.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Ed

Have you checked the obvious first, like looking for bad solder joints? The last two of these that I fixed did not need output ICs, just resoldering connections and alignment. Likely less alignment than if you replace the outputs.

Hi Leonard,

I tried resoldering the connnections to the two STK392-150 IC's. No change. I am going to replace them and see if that takes care of the problem.

Back to my first question. Why the $65 difference in price from Partstore vs. Electronix?

Thanks

Thanks to all who helped. I replaced my STK's, realigned the guns and all is well. If you want to read the saga that I passed on to someone with a similar problem, you can click on:
