what is "nested irq disables"?

Hi Everybody, what is "nested irq disables" in irq.h? In interrupt enable handler it checks for the depth of an interrupt(what is that?). Can anybody help?

Apart from these, I am wondering what are the different fields in /proc/meminfo. A sample output is:

# > cat /proc/interrupts CPU0 2: 1270 MIPS serial 3: 747 MIPS eth0 4: 0 MIPS linux-kernel-bde 7: 332894 MIPS timer

What does the 2nd coloumn indicate?

Thanks, Sudip
