This is a preparatory part number for the remote. GE does not support servicing these remotes.
What you can do is go to any of the local electronics parts suppliers that sell generic TV and electronics service parts, and ask about a universal type ceramic crystal for remote controls. In most of the remotes these are a
455 kHz ceramic crystal. I cannot remember if it is a series are parallel resonant device in these remotes. I suspect it is a series type. These remote control crystals should sell for about $2 to $5 on the average.
Another thing you can do is go to any of the local flea-markets, and look for some of the vendors that sell old remotes. Get a number of cheap ones, and take them apart. In each one, you will get a good IR LED, and the ceramic crystal as well, unless by coincidence they are defective. These two parts are very common in many of these remotes.
The most common failures in these remotes is the ceramic crystal, and the IR LED. The crystal is usually damaged when the remote is dropped very strongly.

I have a ceramic resonator in a remote that has broken leads. The numbers on
the case are: 1422 on the first line, 271-4 on the second line and the
initials
C.P. on the third line. I can't find it in the Digi-Key catalog and I can't
determine the resonate frequency. The remote is from a GE TV. Any help is
appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles
