i have a question. do i have to edit the ucf file by hand in edk 9.1 or is there a editor like in ise? i thought i could use the editor from ise but my ucf file that i created with edk wont load..

Yes, you can use PACE or Constraints editor from ISE. Just open the program, and then open your files: ucf file as constraints file (located on your 'data' folder) and ngd file as design file (located in your 'implementation' folder). Of course, you first have to generatethe netlist...
