Skills Required: =95 +8 years of Swing experience =95 Experience with large GUIs comprising numerous screens =95 Experience interacting with J2EE/EJB, WebLogic =95 Experience tuning GUI for performance (memory use and interactivity) =95 Experience writing asynchronous GUIs with dynamic screen update functionality =95 Experience refreshing and incrementally improving existing GUIs =95 Delivery focused, i.e. must be able to deliver concrete improvements to an aggressive schedule (Regular monthly releases required, demonstrating continuous delivery)

Would anyone really do Java without Swing?

Sure. Server-side and/or middle-ware app with no (or limited) GUI.

There are also other GUI environments such as J2ME.

Should have said without Swing experiences.

The strength of Java is GUI. Most Javaer would have done some GUI, probably with Swing.

Again, someone would more like to start with Swing first.
