I got a BP Precision 1403A on ebay for almost nothing but there were no probes with it. I saw what appeared to be generic , one size fits all, in Jameco cat. Is this true? Or are they specific to ea machine? Ken

If you want a perfect match and performance that meets the manufacturer's specs then only the original equipment probes will do. On the other hand, a good quality after-market probe will work just fine, especially since the scope itself just might possibly not be up to original specs.

Thanks I couldn't ever find the probes specific to this unit. I'll get the Jameco once for my 10$ scope Ken
Make sure that the calibration range of the probe includes the actual input capacitance of your scope input. mike.
