Note only the interesting electronics posts get 2 and 3 replies typically, but the Ass-Fest has 88 and growing.

It's not too difficult to derive what the interests are, and what the expertise is in.

What I needed to know was to use a filter in a newsreader which I'll have to download, and not use google groups, then the conversation will take place among people who don't have such dire need for a better view of themselves.

Don't worry about that. Here's a much better advice:

Do a search on posts to s.e.d. with Guy Macon as a filter and find the URL of the group he's running. It's a nice design group where he invits nice peoples and do a nice to moderate the assholes. I think you won't be annoyed there and you'll have good advices there.

"N" and I were sitting here at my desk, when the phone rang... MAJOR woman's magazine flunkey (a female)... I asked "N" if she were interested, she said no, I relayed the message and hung up.

We left for dinner, flunkey calls back and left a message on the answering machine... using some cuss words that even I didn't recognize ;-)

I called the cops, they came and took the tape.

Chicago cops called the next day saying she would be prosecuted. Magazine called later to assure me that she was fired as well.

But I feel slighted by "engineer" (aka Geoffrey Gallo ).

He only sent me an E-mail saying, "You are a class A f****ng asshole".

To which I replied, "Nope. Class AAA ;-)"

There is a significant difference between a sub-culture (don't mean to pick on my Italian friends but will cite the Mafia as a sub-culture) and a culture. Darwin was mostly on target. All statistical variations get a trial and only those that are viable survive, in the long run.

In other words, we need each other to survive and nice behavior is survival behavior. You don't have to get into religion to understand this. Evil behavior is anti-social and thus anti-survival. Using the Darwin premise, evil is self-extinguishing. One must consider that very long periods of time are required to really see how Darwinism works.

Evil will never go away since it is a statistical phenomenon. A nice family produces a serial killer ... it happens all the time. Organized evil is the same; it will come and go.

I think I've figured out why Guy hasn't been back. He killfiled me because I laughed at him, so I suspect he's killfiled everyone (they all laughed), and s.e.d. now appears blank :)

I don't much crave chocolate, but my wife and my mother are quite partial to some local chocolateers (Snowflake-w/sugar and Ambrosia-w/o).

I can eat chocolate on occasion, not almonds, on purpose.
