Only Jerks Need to Satisfy Their Woeful Egos by Feeding Trolls
Crap, I'm surrounded by tedious old gits.

Stop admiring yourself in the mirror and you'll feel slightly less hemmed in.

My Logitechs work fine on my matte finished laminate desk. I do use a mouse pad, mainly because my hands/wrists can't take the cold from the desk.

Sounds like an (overly) effective flux.

When's the last time you soldered anything? Or designed anything? You've made yourself into a useless ritual insult machine.
Enjoy.

I think you'll find those who differ. ;-)

My Dad was a scotch drinker. When he died, we had a little family-only memorial at my brother's Dan's house. The other brother, Bill invited me, Dan, and nephew Tony out to the garage where we drank a toast to Dad.
I said, "Damn, that's good scotch!"
Bill said, "That's because it's bourbon."
Cheers! Rich

I cleaned a couple of keyboards with a scrub brush and dish soap under running water in the deep sink at work. I blew them dry with shop air, and hung them by their cords for a day or two to fully dry.
Looked like new and still worked! ;-)

My favorite keyboard is the $5.00 Belkin.

Anyone tried a dishwasher to clean a keyboard?

I've heard of it being done, but never done it myself.
I usually just slosh denatured alcohol around the contacts, or buy a new keyboard... they're so dirt cheap it's more costly to clean.
For me, keyboards tend to outlast computers, so I have a bunch of spares. Which is a good thing, the grandkids have "coked" several of my wife's keyboards :-(

I like the Unicomp (IBM Model "M") keyboards, which aren't free. They last basically forever though (have one that's 20 years old - one finally died at 17). I bought the Unicomp USB keyboard because the PS/2 keyboard input on my docking station doesn't work.
No "Pepsi Syndrome" allowed on yours, eh? I've found that they can be cleaned. I generally pry off the key caps and clean them separately. The grunge underneath them is pretty gross though.

I have a rule, no drinks on the computer desk. I have to turn 90° to the writing desk to get coffee, water... or wine ;-)

The only time I worry about it is with open laptops. Everyone should have at least a small stack of new keyboards and pointing devices squirreled away.

I've been really punchy on airplanes ever since the jerk in front of me snapped his seat-back suddenly, tossing my glass of wine into the keyboard of my laptop (Sony Vaio at the time, now I have a smaller Lenovo).
I instantly flipped the laptop over, letting the wine run out onto the floor.
When I got home I gave it my standard denatured alcohol slosh, and had no subsequent problems with it.

Not onto his head? ;-)
Sounds like Sony makes their keyboards more robust than the average desktop keyboard.
