Wrong, they were all technical. Except for taking amusing swipes at Shrillary (the Manchurian Candidate) I only "post political" in response to "hate America" postings. Those are now completely history. Now I can get back to electronics ;-)

No, you don't. More often than not you start it up by dredging up something derogatory about what you fancy calling "leftists".

YD, You are close to proving you have no sense of humor, thus, by definition, a leftist weenie ;-)
Post something electronic for which you need an solution.

What do you get when you blend ignorance, guilt, superstition and fear, plus the promise of a supernatural being that will make you feel good, no matter what your condition in life?
Normal people would answer, "Religion".
Liberals would answer, "Big Government".
Tithing will be by carbon credits ;-)

Well into a "mild battle", in article , YD wrote in part:
How about with the fashionable-to-bash 555?
Can work at least sometimes with no more than power supply, a 555, an LED, 1 capacitor, and 2 resistors including the "dropping resistor" to control/limit current through the LED. I am aware of some applications (which I mostly consider adventurous) where via choice of LED and supply voltage and power supply type there is some to good chance of being able to get away with omitting the "LED dropping resistor". This circuit can have high vulnerability to "various/whatever noise" unless a couple other capacitors are added: One across the supply rails, and another from Pin 5 of the 555 to either supply rail (traditionally the more-negative one). .1 uF capacitors get cheaper than some "dirt" when tolerance and temperature characteristics get "worse" (+80/-20% tolerance, Z5U and similar temperature characteristics) so as to limit such capacitors more to "shorting out" noise across power supply rails or otherwise to use in filters where it is OK for the capacitor's caacitance to vary a lot from one lot to another, 1 piece top another or with temperature.

What, are you complaining that Jim uses sed as his own personal blog or something? Why, _that's_ never been done by anyone ever before, has it?
Besides, do you really think anyone cares about your prowess at mocking Jim? Most of us can lead a long and fruitful life without ever having a need to know about it.
Ahem.
