OT. Jumbo P Core Ferrite F.S.

Dec 20, 2013 2 Replies

Sorry, this is a Ferrite P Cores For Sale post.

I have 12 Sets of P66/56 3C81 P Cores. This is a very large core, approx 2-1/2" in Dia. and 2-1/4 " tall.

Here's the catalog, But I can't make it work right now, yesterday it was fine. Towards the end you will find P66/56 cores.

And here is the material (3C81) information.

I don't have the Bobbins, but they are available.

These cost $28.00 ea., I'll sell all twelve sets (24 halves) for $130.00 with Free shipping to the lower 48.

My address above is good.

Thanks, Mikek

Ungapped, I take it?

FWIW, cores that size are good for at least 500W, and probably a kW or two. 3C81 isn't the fanciest, but fine up to 50 or 100kHz (at say ~0.2T), and more with derating. (I suppose if one were desperate, a cooling tube could be epoxied down the central screw hole, or something, to run them close to saturation at higher frequencies?)

Pot cores are, of course, fantastic for low noise / low interference applications, being pretty well shielded by nature.

Tempted to take you up on the offer myself, but I'd never use them all!

They are ungapped. You could always sell what you don't use. :-) Tell me how many you want, and I'll see what I can do.

I think they can do 1kW with no problem, we used one size smaller

46/something, "can't remember the number this morning", running 1kw at 600kHz, although although we did recommend a duty cycle, but that was to protect our transducer. We produced high frequency high power ultrasonic systems.

Thanks, Mikek
