OT: Eat The Rich!

Obviously.

Oh, and for the Air FOrce to use an Air-to-Air missile there has to be an airplane somewhere in the vicinity *with* a live Air-to-Air missile on board. In '01 that was a rarity.

That makes it difficult, but there is no problem with the idea. ;-)

You mean like the debt limit legislation?

exactly; first,a wayward plane has to be identified as a threat (and not an emergency),then fighters scrambled to intercept, and a decision made to shoot it down,or to try to divert it.That takes some time.

Nobody knew the hijacked airliners were being used as weapons until the first one hit the WTC tower. At least the one meant for the White House was crashed after passengers got cellphone messages that told them what happened to other hijacked planes. Those brave people saved thousands of lives and billions worth of real estate and economic losses.HEROES.

Like the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban. It had a 5 year duration, then had to be renewed by vote or it expired. It did expire. (Hurrah!!)

It deserved to expire.

It would have taken an hour or two just to get the permissions to load a live weapon on a plane, stateside. ...and another hour to get it in the air. The F16s that responded couldn't even shoot blanks.

Who said anything about achievers? Those were senators. This country already takes everything from the achievers, outsources their jobs, and gives billion dollar bonuses to the CEOs, whether their company makes or loses money. And the politicians spend much more money running for office than they earn from their salaries.

Almost right. It wasn't supposed to start before he left office.

I don't know which would be scarier: a world where 9/11 could happen, or a world where airliners could be pre-emptively shot down to prevent a possible 9/11. Think of the people on that Northwest flight.

Palin figured out that there's a lot more money to be made as a speaker, author and "consultant" than as a government official too, you know. :-)

You do know that making money is bad only when liberals do it, don't you? It is perfectly fine for conservatives to successfully collect all of the money.

Well, of course.

When Liberals *make* money they never back the paper with anything.

When Conservatives *collect* money, the Liberals tax it away from them.

I can't understand why anybody's paying any attention at all to Sarah Palin. She's been nothing but a bad joke since day one.

Probably the "liberal" media keep trotting her out to continue to rub the Republicans' nose into the Obama win, which, BTW, is leading the Republic down into the bottomless abyss of Socialism.

Thanks, Rich

I tell ya what. You find a way to stop the North Pole, and the glaciers from melting as they are, so that we don't end up with a billion or two displaced illiterate "tourists", and...fix the weather too, ok? And those nasty "dead zones" on the ocean floor which are big as the state of Texas and growing.

If you'll fix all that...then I'll personally deliver the head of Al Gore, or anyone else you want, in a shiny hat box.

You do understand the North Pole doesn't make a bit of difference to sea level, right? Greenland, that's another story.

The North Pole is just the tip of the iceberg.

But another disruption in the Humbolt current is going to spell disaster, again. It's my faaavorite thermohaline conveyor. As in...

Thermohaline Conveyor A global water circulation system driven by water temperature and salt- density that distributes water between the Earth=92s oceans. Warmer water closer to the ocean's surface travels from the northern Pacific Ocean, south through the Indian Ocean (where it is joined by more warm water), around the southern tip of Africa, and up to the northern Atlantic Ocean. At this point, the water cools and sinks toward the bottom of the ocean and travels back via the same path. The thermohaline conveyor is repsonsibile for bringing warmer, more temperate climate to most of Europe and has a profound effect on global climate.

And Al Gore?

Don't shoot the messenger.

Since the leftist loons were trying to sue her into bankruptcy, she made the smart move. Of course it would be unheard of for a politician to make money on a book while still in office.
