NZ - Snow hits farmers big time

Don't be silly. Blizzards are just "weather" and don't disprove global warming. Warm spells, especially in big asphalt parking lots, DO prove global warming.

You'd be better served by getting your news from more up to date sources. That story is dated 5 Oct. Sheesh, that storm was about two weeks ago. The NZ newspaper they quote first used the quoted phrase ?the worst spring storm in living memory? on 23 September.

While the east coast of Australia, and also NZ, are experiencing wet and cold weather we poor buggers over on the west coast of Aus have had the driest winter on record with less than 50% of our normal average rainfall. The thing about global warming is that it can produce wildly erratic conditions completely out of the norm for any area of the globe at any time. Don't make the mistake of assuming that just because NZ is experiencing this sudden spate of abnormal freezing that there is no such thing as global warming. You can almost bet that at the same time you are freezing your backside off some other poor buggers around the world are having abnormal weather conditions the exact opposite of what they would normally expect.
