Wow, that's a mighty big sprawl there. "Honey, can you grab the Porsche and drive to the 7th room down hallway 5?"

This might be another solution for them:

I am not a big believer in PLC. Plus it tethers the PCs, then I might as well lay CAT-5. In the living area and even outside there are (switchable) CAT-5 outlets but you know how it is. Large dogs, some cat meouws in the street, big dog decides to have to be at the other end of the deck in milliseconds to deliver a "speech". Meantime the laptop sails off the table.

I reckon only folks in them thar southern states will be gitten what that means :-)

Something about hiss and your pants might be...

One very large but rather friendly snake called Miss Hiss got out a lot here in Sacramento, took four guys to lift her back to where she belongs:

I had to look up "GARRET" Its not a frequently used definition, it took more then average probing at Google.

Here is where Wikipedia can often provide quick answers:

But I meant the email munging. That was done quite nicely.

Being half Buckeye Yankee, sometimes I need a translator.

We tease my mom, when we take her back to the farm, that she needs her passport to get back into Ohio.

I'm blessed with a neutral midwest accent, the kind the newscasters want.

Hey, have you taken the APs outside yet?

Steve

No, it's still pouring heavily. Plus I need to fix the concrete floor in another office, plus a client just called with another urgent assignment ...

With the introduction of Obama's carbon taxes it is likely that my annual energy costs will double. But I'll make up that cost by dismissing my maid, landscape and swimming pool maintenance services. I'll also stop tipping when I go out to eat. But I won't worry... Obama will take care of all those folks. They probably voted Democrat anyway ;-)

Nope. Seen at a neighbor what happened about a year later. He had hired it done. Or what the contractor considered done. They had the pleasure to rip all the tiles out again. I am laying carpet tiles, the ones with the post-it style back (Milliken Legato commercial grade). Requires a very smooth floor or they'll come up again. The main office is long done, looks great.

I am doing it at times when I sent a bunch of suggestions to clients and they have to try it, then hop back into the (new) office next door when the email beepeth. It's actually pretty good exercise. Of course this method means slow progress and SWMBO ain't too happy about it but she understands that my main job is what brings bread onto the table. Real German "Graubrot" BTW, found a bakery where they really know how to make it.

Oh, and yes, I tried to have carpet guys do the room. When I said that it is absolutely not possible to shut down the office right now and that it had to be done "half by half" they all declined. Won't do it.

We have a manager here who's building a home -- doing the parts he can himself, and contracting out the parts he can't or doesn't want to -- and he said he's amazed that in the current economy how "less than hungy" many carpenters, sheet-rockers, kitchen guys, etc. still are: Many are consistently late, don't return phone calls, etc. Uggh.

"Half-by-half" carpeting sounds the same way -- how can it be such a big deal that there isn't still some decent money in it?

Yes, blows my mind. Especially since I saw the first guy a month ago with his truck, trailer and tools sitting next to a road. Had a sign "Need work, desperately".

And I told them I'd understand that they have to charge more because they'll have to come twice. Still no takers. Oh well. So far I am quite pleased with the carpet tile in the new office. Or to be honest I would have lived with the old flooring but my wife really likes the new look.

Yeah... they have a lot of free time in that state too.

Jeorg, you must tell me where you got that. I am still jonesing for stuff from Eschbach's in Torrance. Not to mention some of the other stuff i have found in Alpine Village.
