I wanna model a system level design for simulation purposes and was wondering if i could use Matlab/Simulink to do it. Supposing i wanna model a SERDES chip with a 8b/10b encoder,Parallel to serial mux,lvds driver,cdr and plls, it has both analog and digital part but these individual parts can be modelled in simulink. But will that the modelling give me,
1.Timing data?
2.Can i model noise?
3.Can memory be modelled?
Since i dont want to do a transistor level design right now,i want to know whether a design would work. Is it possible to do a system level design in any other language at all? I havent worked on simulink before so would appreciate it if anyone could answer my queries.
