They have helmets and neck braces on and look to be using fairly light weight ducting tube as the target so a lot of noise and not much force. Large scale tubular bells! The Intel Finland site says it is real and has better video bandwidth on the clip than Utube.

The behind the scenes interview with the ballistics manager is rather funny. He uses "Danger" and "Safety" a little bit too interchangeably.

Satellite...$600 set-up, about $60 min monthly and reliability for squat.

Satellite isn't all that bad. Your least worst option if there is no chance of ADSL is to go for ISDN with two channel bonding. That is rock solid 128kbps over copper wire and a decent level of customer service.

Such a card is available from say 70 $, and the services are about 30 to 40 Euro last time I looked, I have such a cared, and I can see what other people are downloading if I wanted to, and of course store it too. But I have no subscription, so no number to dial into and click a link... So I cannot request anything specific.

I dunno if the US has advanced to that point yet, as of course we started early with digital TV. So, then your uplinks are slow with dial up as they always were, but download big files at much higher speed. As you share a satellite transponder with everybody else, there may be some delay before your file appears. Well, this was the situation here already ten years ago, I forgot the name of the companies that do these services (there were at least 2), but you could ask around or google. Some of those sat cards already come with preset settings for this, and some cards come free with a subscription. Linux has also full support for this, in fact it worked before I could even get a TV picture... Those transponder channels are just data channels, Oh, let me see:

ISDN costs in the US are absurd. Always have been.

The last time I asked the installation costs were over $2500. :(

You could go for a mobile broadband deal. A 500MB/month download on a basic network goes for about £5/month these days in the UK. Some networks offer pay as you go but you have to buy the network dongle.

I expect there are similar deals on offer in the USA.
