Strange individuals, like myself, found this interesting.

Amazing! I wasn't aware YouTube could be used for things other than videos of cats.

Cool. And this one was nearby. Phil Hobbs may be interested:

Umm, where can I rent a cat outfit?

John

In Florida, you can find things that look like that walking down the beach. ;)

I didn't need to know that.

What I meant was to consider how light would reflect off that liquid blob, with all those waves running around in different directions. What impressed me was how much the wiggles are dominated by higher-order modes, surface waves as opposed to bulk motion.

You're not strange at all, you're rather common.

Yes it is and it's exactly why you can't use multiple oscillators for random number generators (as I've seen suggested here more than once).

Doesn't Intel do that inside some of their chips? I've seen papers about using multiple ring oscillators to make random numbers.

Seems OK to me if you use a lot of them, and they are not near in frequency. Vcc noise, temperature drifts, Johnson noise, whatever will break up most tendencies to ratio-lock.

On the other hand, good 10 MHz ovenized oscillators can lock from just being in the same room.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them use a hack like that. It *doesn't* work.

The cryptographic strength of such a lash up will be very poor and it's not easy to measure exactly how poor.

There are more modes of lock than 1:1.

Run away! Run away! Significant signs of emotional instability here.

I did meet a lady once who said she loved roosters. Or something like that.
