"Tama Murotani-Inaba, 87, spent 40 years working as a hostess at the Westin Hotel and devoted countless hours to volunteering in her community. But don?t let her age fool you; she had the restaurant rolling in laughter when she offered her personal tips.

?If you don?t mind, I?d rather give you five secrets to a great relationship,? she said.

Those secrets entailed finding a man who is ?handy around the house,? has a sense of humor, is intelligent, clean and a good lover. After the series of tips mixed with off-the-wall innuendos, Murotani-Inaba added, ?Your most important secret: These four men must never meet.?

Around here, the older they get, the bigger the cars get. Sure you won't change your mind and seek out a 70's-something Eldorado?? :)

Right now I also have a Q45. But I rented a Cadillac SUV a while back when I was in Riverside, CA, that impressed me.

What's with all the "?" marks above in the quoted text? Result of Outhouse Excuse ?:-)

Our concern is the three power pads on the bottom, specifically for rework. Our manufacturing people didn't look too enthusiastic when we showed them this one.

John

Are you really that hard-pressed for space? At those currents I'd always prefer external FETs.

The upcoming board is pretty tight, and we need 3 amps or so at +2.5 volts for a bunch of ECL. We also need a heap of +8, +5, -2.5, and -5. That's a lot of switchers. Prime power is a 12 or maybe 24 volt wart. Looks like a closed-loop fan control too, to keep the ecl temp sorta constant and minimize acoustic noise and time delay creep.

Some of the boards we're doing lately are close to half power supply.

Hmm. Somehow I missed the sports car part.

I bought an Austin-Healey Sprite, $2085 new, when I was 20, and got that out of my system. Now, I can't understand why anybody would buy anything but a hatchback.

My two Z's were hatchbacks ;-)

Ever see the movie (IIRC) "Middle Age Crazy"?

Saw an elderly lady at Costco. She bought a used Austin Healey Coupe in

1961 and still drives it today. Her first car and most likely also her last. Said she'd probably sell it for more than she paid even when adjusted for inflation once she decides to quit driving. I guess that woman must be the automotive industry's nightmare.

Only the car makers'. Given the amount she must have paid in parts and labour to keep that Healey's wheels from falling off, she's probably the ideal customer for parts makers, junkyards, and garages.

Cheers,

Phil "Former British sports car owner" Hobbs

I asked her whether spare parts for such an old car would be expensive. Her reply: "It rarely needs any."

That's why I prefer Japanese. It's rare indeed when you see a British-made car around here. But you see lots of Mercedes and BMW's dead on the side of the road... they don't seem to do well in the heat ;-)

My Q45, on the other hand, can sit in stopped rush hour traffic, idling with the A/C on, and never over-heat.

The 3 and 6 amp versions of this switcher look like fabulous chips, but we won't use them in that package.

Your production folks threw a tantrum when they saw it?
