Cell phone ccd ID

I have a cell phone that stopped working and I took it apart and recovered the CCD and was wondering if it would be possible to use. I think the cell phone as a motorola RAZR or something like that. The only markings on the CCD are 8488310Y, 0339751-111, and tw0518 Q X. It has a 20 pin connector that is like tape with flat pins(not sure what its called).

I was wondering if I could turn this into some type of little camera where I could stream the data to my computer. Is it possible to find out a data sheet for something like this?

Thanks, Jon

There is a semi-industry-standard for cellphone camera modules. Take a look at the datasheet on this page:

You might get lucky.

It's actually cheaper - a LOT cheaper - to buy camera phones on eBay than it is to buy the modules individually.

I've seen the spares offered on phone repair sited for about 2 or 3 dollars. Not too much.

Interesting, do you have a URL? I looked for them through distribution and they were very expensive in single quantity ($50 or more).
