9/11 Happened Because US was Too Stupid To Fortify Cockpit Doors

The US "intelligence" community never took a kamikaze hijacking of that type seriously, they didn't think the filthy ragheads had the brains or determination to pull it off.

Even some of the Florida (lol) flight instructors who trained them couldn't and probably still don't believe it, they could barely speak English, read the manual upside-down. Could never learn to fly a jet.

And they were no geniuses but they learned enough and played those guys easily, "lol we made the stupid racist whiteys think we were just a bunch of incompetent ragheads who couldn't read." "Yessir, very good. very good." Flight instructors bought that s*it up and they were easily forgettable, just one more bunch of rich dilettante Saudis trying to get a pilot license to impress their friends. too stupid to ever be criminals. just what they wanted.

There's no such thing as being too stupid to fly. Just look at the crop of foreign pilots in places like Indonesia if you want proof. South American pilots don't think it's important to monitor their fuel gauges. Then there are bunches of them who don't understand the relationship between keeping the wing surface perpendicular to the gravity vector and aerodynamic lift.

Sounds like the FBI started asking around about him during their 9/11 investigation and uncovered the drug side business.

Don't need to be the FBI to notice a guy is living beyond his means, and might have a cash-flow problem. This guy was no doubt suspicious of every Muslim who showed up on his door but they played pretty dumb, and cash they brought.

Lots of things are designed with the expectation that they operate in a benevolent (or, at least, NOT malevolent) environment.

Look at the internet, most of the standards for data exchange, etc.

And, that's ignoring all of the other issues like SQL injection in web sites, etc.

Or, Nigerian princes blind calling folks AND GETTING AWAY WITH $$$.

You're missing the bigger picture.

Without going into specifics (cuz I don't want to put ideas in anyone's head), LOOK around you -- your home, your neighborhood, your place of employment, your schools, etc. and see how vulnerable those things are if you'd been of a mind to exploit those vulnerabilities.

So much of our infrastructure is not hardened; ignorance is the only thing that discourages exploits. Remember the DC beltway (?) shooter?

My neighbor locked himself out of his home, shortly after moving in. He, his wife and infant son showed up on my doorstep looking for "a credit card" (hoping to jimmy the lock -- nope, not on these doors!) so they could get in out of the heat.

I walked around his house. Went back home and returned with a screwdriver. I removed *one* screw from the kitchen window stile, slid the stile out of the way, removed the movable pane... and turned to him:

"Do you want to give me a boost up? Or, would you like me to boost *you*?"

Once he was inside, I replaced the stile, reinserted the screw and walked back home.

You missed the part about having reliable intelligence that this was in their planning. Why bother gather intelligence if all you're going to do is react to what has happened before? As everyone knows, US is managed by incredibly stupid people, low caliber space takers. Same kind of stupid thinking in FBI management waved field agents off the job who wanted to pursue leads which to them looked very serious.

The way my house is located all one has to do is walk around the back side and knock out a window in a door and unlock it, or there are 3 windows reachable from the back deck.

Were it not for my wife and probably the insurance company I would leave the house unlocked. There is only one other house with in 300 feet and a few more a few hundred feet away. None can see the back of the house. Only 2 can see the drive way.

I do have a key hidden so I can get into the house. Did that as when we first moved here 15 years ago the wife locked herself out of the house 3 time in the first month. Just lucky for her that I was only about an hour from gettng off work.

They planned to crash jumbo jets loaded with fuel into the tower- obviously from what transpired. They knew they would mess them up and kill a lot of people , but it appears the total collapse took them by surprise, not that they objected to that turn of events.

It was only 8 years earlier they detonated a 15,000 lb bomb in the center garage which they surmised would cause the towers to fall in on each other.

I don't think they had any idea that would happen for sure. The timing wasn't even particularly good for causing maximum casualties from the strike itself, seemed mostly timed to ensure the planes they got on would be lightly booked and at a time when most airline and security employees coming in on the morning shift were likely to be thinking about how to get their hands on the first cup of coffee, not thinking about spotting suspicious activity.

Early September is one of the slow times for air travel in the US, even before 9/11 it wouldn't be when they were beefing up security like around holidays.

Also it's the most likely time of year for the weather in the consistently-unpredictable Northeast US to be consistently very good. This year is a lot like 2001, aside from a passing shower or two the weather the past couple weeks has been consistently just perfect for visual flying.

You're reading way too much into their thought processes. They did no such thing.
