We have a place here in Dallas called Cable and Connector Warehouse -- they make custom cables to your sepecifications -- pricey unless you need a quantity -- they are on the web and take orders online or over the phone -- or you may find a similar company closer to home !!

Call Digikey or look at their print catalog in the first few pages, they have a custom cable capability. It's super easy but you *must* do your homework up front, there are many subtle variations in the connectors. They will charge you a setup fee that gets you a custom Digikey part no. This is handy when you need a few more of the same cable later on. Or you can just order the individual parts, and use a sturdy desk drawer to slam the parts together. I do it, it's not that bad.

Do you mean likt two 50-wire ribbons side-by-side, or one on top of the other? If they're side-by-side, just get two pieces of 50-wire, and crimp them into a 100-pin connector.

Otherwise, I have no ides.

There used to be an S-100 Bus Standard. Don't know if they ever made a cable for it as you desire, but maybe?? Might be worth a Google search....

S-100 was an edge card standard, not IDC connectors :)

I worked with it often enough :)

Much easier and more robust would be to use a 100-wire cable and split it at the 2X50 end. It's trivial to do yourself. I've done several, though never those particular numbers.

IDC edge connectors are available... someone could have done a flexible S100....

LOL that's true, but we have these massive wood desks that have a nice oomph to them. I'm the official IDC guy around here. I used to use a hammer with a piece of wood, so I've actually improved. I even put strain reliefs with pull-tabs now. Very dignified.

Thanks for the link, its almost the one i need, but i think i will have to resort to some other option like a custom cable... but still i will try that $95 one.

John Barrette, Can you give me more details of that cable warehouse, actually I need volume quantity later after my prototype is done, but now i need to know what is the arrangement with this. From that cable manufacturer i need the footprint of the connector mounted on the pcb before i need the actual ribbon cable--so the prototype will be able to be fabricated first.

Where do you put all the bypass capacitors? Is it up to the end user to supply the fire extinguisher, as well? The power pins on the S100 Buss carried quite a bit of current. Enough that it would have set an IDE cable on fire.
